Sadly, we have decided to end our blog. I have decided to start my own blog called Making Things for Boo, Cat, and Bam. Be sure to check it out! I am very excited about this new blog and blogging about the things I make for my girls and others. I started this blog to start completing the things that I have bookmarked Amanda and Katiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02076224502133202612noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3610855060369512339.post-82264818228598428802011-11-17T08:50:00.000-08:002011-11-17T08:50:50.595-08:00Pre-ruffled fabric goodness!I made this baby dress for my sister's co-worker. This was my first time sewing with pre-ruffled fabric. I LOVE IT! It was easy to sew with and I love not having to make the ruffles. I made a peasant dress. I made the top, then added the pre-ruffled fabric for the skirt portion.

I made this baby dress for my friend who just had a baby girl. I love, love the fabric and how it turned out. I followed this tutorial on Craftiness is not optional for the collar and sleeves of the dress. Her tutorial is for a top, but I made it longer and made a cute dress.

She picked the fabric out at the store and designed how she wanted her skirt to look. It looks great and she did a great job making it.

Have you checked out this challenge yet? I am trying it out and hoping that it motivates me to sew more! This is the first project that I finished for day one...a skirt for my daughter. I made it out of old jeans and some scrap fabric. I love, love how it turned out and I would like one myself!

I have found something else to make from Craftiness is not Optional. She is so talented and I love her site. I saw this post with the peasant top with a tie, and I wanted to make it for my Baby B. I love it!

I didn't think it was a big deal until I looked in her closet and she owns zero red shirts. I decided to try and make one myself. My husband has a bunch of these red shirts so I started cutting away.

I love how they turned out and loved making them! I followed this tutorial on Craftiness is not optional. I love her blog and all of her awesome tutorials!! I put invisible zippers in the dresses and it worked! I am scared of zippers and tend to stay away from them unless my mom is in town helping me :)

I love them!! It really opened up their room and gave them more space to play. He made the bottom bed tall enough to slide their dressers underneath freeing up even more floor space. He is so talented and he made up the plans for it. He sketched them out on google sketchup, made a cut list, and then started building. When my best friend asked me if I would make her little boy a tie, I was very excited. I make a lot of girl things, but not many boy things. With the extra fabric, I made her husband a matching tie (she makes them match for church sometimes)! Then she wanted a matching skirt too. She sent me these pictures of their matching outfits. I love it! I want to make him a bow tie next.

I am calling it the Riley doll, after my cute niece.
For the dolls hair, I got the idea from the dolls that mmmcrafts made. I love how she added the cute pigtails and hair accessories. So cute! I used the Black Apple doll pattern to make the doll. I love making those dolls. I found this Rag Quilt Letters tutorial on this awesome blog, happy together. She has such cute ideas! I made these for my 18 month old for Christmas. I did not quilt my letters and I just made them from some left over fabric. They are all made from cotton. All three of my kids play with these letters all the time. I love them!!

I do not have a problem going through my closets, but giving them away is a problem for me. I just know that I could make those clothes into something else. I went through my closet recently and kept a lot of shirts and jeans. I made one of my shirts into a skirt for my daughter.
I did not take a picture of the shirt before. (I know it is not Christmas yet, but my husband does not know how to wait until Christmas!) I have been asking for one ever since I found Ana's awesome site ana-white.com. You have to check it out! I made this skirt, little baby booties, and headband for my friend's new baby girl. The fabric is corduroy again. I have a lot of corduroy right now. It keeps going on sale! I love making these baby shoes. I got the pattern from Stardust shoes. They are so easy to make. I used the same fabric asAmanda and Katiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02076224502133202612noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3610855060369512339.post-76152257899354492152010-11-10T09:39:00.000-08:002010-11-10T09:39:10.744-08:00I love corduroy fabric :)Well, not much crafting has been happening at my house between my family and the four classes I am taking this semester. It is so sad, but I managed to finally finish this dress. I won't tell you how long it just sat on my sewing desk waiting to be hemmed... 5 months too long!
I love corduroy fabric and I love when I find it for really cheap!! I just finished making this dress for my niece and IAmanda and Katiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02076224502133202612noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3610855060369512339.post-65314588425999031782010-09-28T22:29:00.000-07:002010-09-28T22:29:39.319-07:00Yummy Lo Mein RecipeI love eating Lo Mein from my favorite chinese restaurant, but it is pricey. I have been searching and searching for a good recipe to make at home, and I finally found one. My 3-year old even ate it and that girl does not eat anything, really pickest eater I have ever seen.
I found this recipe on allrecipes.com, but I listened to some of the reviews and changed things. The real recipe is here. I just love the fabric. I used the McCall's pattern M5455. Since I used cotton fabric and not a stretch knit fabric, I changed the back of the skirt and added two buttons.
I know the pictures are horrible...I took them with my phone, but my camera is still broken :(
